All right, I admit it, it’s been a long couple of under-productive years. Even though things are open, back to “normal”, there is a lingering fog of post-lockdown effect. It makes me sluggish, anti-social, lazy.
After a lengthy lethargy, I seem to have found an antidote.
What the cowbell is to a fever, the Pretzel City Author Fest was to me.
No prescription needed.
A cure for what ails me, this spectacular event, held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at the Lincoln Mall in Freeport, Il, featured twenty of the areas most talented authors. Selling, signing, speaking, and sharing our wisdom, woes, and wins.
I sold a bunch of books. My best event to date. By far.
I spoke with a lot of authors, finding inspiration through their writing experiences and many diverse publications.
I engaged with aspiring writers and avid readers who reignited my creative flame, successfully burning off the haze of ennui.
As a bonus, I’d like to think I made a bunch of new friends.
A HUGE shout-out to Debbie Deutsch, planner extraordinaire, and Everything Home, generous sponsor.
It’s only been two days, lol, but I feel good. Better than good. I feel productive, invigorated. I want to write. I want to finish books I’ve begun and finish books I’ve yet to begin. I want to publish. Again. A lot. Look out 2024, I’m coming for you.
THE AUTHOR IS IN.
