Mondays get a bad rep.
It’s not their fault that they come after the weekend.

I like Mondays.
I’ve even blogged about Momdays.
I like the idea of a fresh week ahead.
I enjoy the normalcy following a crazy weekend.
I know what to expect on Monday, from Monday.
But if I were to use Mondays as a metaphor…
Well, they ain’t no Wednesday!
Monday, the metaphor, kind of sucks.
It represents all those things in our lives that happen without our permission. All those people who show up on our doorstep when we’re ill-prepared for company. The avalanche of commentary we have no response to. Every action beyond our control.
I’M NOT READY! One more day…
Monday, the metaphor, comes crashing in earlier than welcome. Or it runs late on our time. It embodies the frustrations we’d put on hold, for the weekend, or at least until we had time to deal.
Guess what? There’s no time to deal!
Monday the metaphor doesn’t care.
Do you know that our winter lasted 134 days? That’s 4 1/2 months between 60 degree days. (That doesn’t even take into consideration the COLD we had in October!)
Can I just call this winter Monday?
I probably could, but I won’t.
Like I said, I like Mondays!
And after this lengthy cold spell, I welcome a 60 degree day.
I find it fitting it falls on a Monday.
