An Ode to the Last Snow

Who has two thumbs and woke up to an accumulation of snow after a weekend of unseasonably warm (and wonderful) weather?
Me, it was me.
Who is so over snow?
Again, me. It is me.

Trying to think of a subject for this morning’s post, I recalled a haiku I’d written a few winters back. It was accepted to a publication at the time, unfortunately the publication never came to fruition. In honor of today’s lovely blanket of fresh today (gone soon) snow, I offer you~

An Auspicious Occurrence

The crocus bursts forth
Blue blossoms spearing gray snow
And so it begins…

A haiku to kick-start Spring.
Let’s hope Mother Nature subscribes to my blog and gets this memo.

About Mary Fran Says

I am an artist, crafter, designer and writer. I enjoy working with mixed media-- applying visual and tactile manipulations to telling a story. Not a lot of market for that, though, :), so I'm focusing on short story submissions and novel completions. Yes, plural. Lots of beginnings, too many ideas, not enough focus.
