To Blog or Not to Blog

Some weeks I have so many ideas for future posts, Mondays can’t come fast enough.
Then, there are Mondays like this morning where I am at a loss for a single thing to say.

On days like this, I wonder why I even still do it. I have been blogging since January 2012! As a matter of fact, this is my 561st post! So, why keep going?!

The original purpose was to get me writing. Set a schedule, have a deadline, just write. Even if I didn’t have anything else to show for the week, at least I’d posted a blog. I’ve been browsing through early submissions as I prepare this. I have covered a LOT of ground in five hundred plus posts. Some of my essays are even pretty good. Heck, many of them are worth a (re)read*. I really enjoy having this digital diary to revisit. Highs, low, and many a chuckle.

I like sharing tales of travel and retreats. Of family adventures and expansions. Introducing my NEXT BIG PROJECT! Publication dates. Promotions. Book signings. Author Fairs. Dreams, struggles, goals.

Yes.
THAT’S why I still do it.

*Feel free to scroll through my archives. You could enter a word into the search box to find a specific topic. Or find them linked by date on the bottom right of each webpage. It’s funny, I sometimes think I should update my website lay-out, clean up that long list, but then I realize that’s visual validation right there, and it makes me happy.

As always, thanks for reading. ❤

About Mary Fran Says

I am an artist, crafter, designer and writer. I enjoy working with mixed media-- applying visual and tactile manipulations to telling a story. Not a lot of market for that, though, :), so I'm focusing on short story submissions and novel completions. Yes, plural. Lots of beginnings, too many ideas, not enough focus.
