It’s OFFICIAL!
I jinxed the White Sox with the post.
Sorry, Dave.
Spring has arrived.
Know how I know?
The weather? Nope.
The calendar? Nope.
Robin sightings? Nope.
OPENING DAY!
Home-opener for the White Sox is a sacred holiday in my circle.
After a long, cold, and sportally dissatisfying winter, hope is in the air.
Like rain. Or snowflakes. (Hence why weather is no indicator of Spring.)
Hot dogs and peanuts and ice cold beer.
The crowd, the energy, the optimism.
You can put it on the board, yes!
This marks the true start of Spring.
Now, I know there are haters, those who don’t like baseball or just don’t like the White Sox, and I’m fine with some healthy rivalry, but isn’t it a little bit exciting to start fresh? New season, blank slate*, the promise of summer right around the corner.
Regardless of who you cheer for, today is a good day to cheer.
Spring is here.

LET’S GO WHITE SOX!
*Technically not blank since the season opened last week. Sox went 2-2 against the World Series Champions, the Houston Astros, at their home opener. Not too shabby.
